Which Chiang Mai Zipline Parks Have Closed?

Half the famous zipline names in Chiang Mai no longer exist. Most of the internet has not noticed: old blog posts, forum threads and even some booking sites still recommend parks that shut years ago. Here is the accurate list, checked against Google Maps in July 2026, and where to go instead.

Flight of the Gibbon, Mae Kampong

The biggest name of them all, and the one people still ask us about most. The famous canopy course above Mae Kampong village closed for good, with reports of the shutdown circulating from mid 2025, and Google now lists it as permanently closed. It went out with a 4.7 rating across 554 reviews. If Gibbon was on your list, the closest thing today is Jungle Flight, run by the longest-serving surviving zipline crew in Chiang Mai, or Skyline Adventure, the current top-rated park at 4.8.

Eagle Track, Mae Rim

Closed permanently after years as one of the most booked courses on the Mae Rim side, final rating 4.7 from 562 reviews. Its side of the mountains is now covered by Pong Yang Jungle Coaster & Zipline, forty minutes up the Samoeng road, which added the gravity coaster Eagle Track never had.

Dragon Flight, Doi Saket

Gone as well, last seen with a 4.7 from 182 reviews. If Dragon Flight was your pick you have the easiest swap on this page, because four open parks fly in the same Doi Saket mountains it did: Skyline Adventure, Kingkong Smile, Jungle Flight and Sky Hawk. The van still collects you from your hotel.

Flying Squirrels, Mae Taeng

A small cult favourite that closed with a 4.7 from just 58 reviews. Its whole appeal was one very long screaming run over a valley. The nearest thing to that feeling now is the 1,200 metre crossing at Kingkong Smile, the longest ride in Chiang Mai.

Zipline ChiangMai Baan Maetaman, Mae Taeng

Closed permanently, final rating 4.5 from 176 reviews. Any of the five mountain parks covers what it offered, transfer and lunch included.

Chiang Mai's zipline scene consolidated hard over the last few years, and the survivors are the strong ones: every open mountain park sits between 4.4 and 4.8 on thousands of reviews. What surprised us while researching this page is how much dead information is still ranking. We found "best zipline" articles, reseller listings and map pins for all five closed parks, some updated as recently as this year. So treat any zipline recommendation without a 2026 date on it with suspicion, ours included, and check it against the table below before you hand over money.
